The Way I Work
Over the years I have supported people of all ages in various statutory agencies. These include a family support service, Women’s Aid, a bereavement service and a young person’s centre for 13 to 25-year olds.
I view the counselling relationship as a vehicle for change. I believe that being met in the in the here and now by another who is able to attend to our past, present and future concerns with acceptance and empathy can facilitate the healing of hurts and confusions. It can help us to gain a clearer understanding of how we can be influenced by old habits and learned patterns of behaviour that may prevent us from change. It can support us to develop greater self-belief and to treat ourselves with tenderness, respect and compassion.
I provide a quiet, confidential and safe space where I offer to work alongside you. I will support you to explore and make sense of your feelings with whatever issue you may choose to bring to counselling. I will listen attentively to your concerns helping you to gain a clearer understanding of your experience, to clarify your thoughts and to come to terms with inner conflict so that you may find greater harmony and balance in your life.
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means that I draw on a range of modalities of psychotherapy to tailor therapy to your individual needs.
I will meet you with openness, warmth and compassion. I respect that you are the authority of your own experiences and will be guided and led by you.
I offer a range of therapy which includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, NLP and Transactional Analysis to the more creative therapies of Jungian, Gestalt and Transpersonal Therapy.

Sand Tray Therapy
I also offer Sand Tray Therapy which you may/may not choose to use. Placing small world figures in the sand supports you to address issues that you may find difficult to vocalise. It can facilitate the opportunity for you to resolve conflicts, to overcome obstacles and to gain self-acceptance.
